Solidarity is Power Fund: Powerbuilding for Racial Justice
At Donors of Color Network we have a vision for how best to support racial justice. That vision is Solidarity is Power.
Solidarity is Power is centered on one fact.
It is impossible to separate democracy from racial justice.
Falsely conceding racial justice to be an issue separate from democracy will only serve to hasten democracy’s erosion.
One key element of Solidarity is Power is our Racial Justice Powerbuilding pooled fund. This fund supports a curated list racial justice movement organizations working to increase voter participation in Black, Latino, Asian American, and Native American communities.
This 50-state strategy supports racial justice groups all over the country, not just in an election year but every year.
Grassroots movements are the ones protecting our democracy. And it is our job to make sure they have the resources to do their incredible work at scale.
We are grounded in our values of joy, power, community, and solidarity. We are humbled by the awesome power of community leaders doing great work, and seek to learn from these leaders and support them.
This is a call to all donors invested in multiracial democracy to learn more about the organizations listed and to support their work with financial contributions*. Each one of these groups is facing budget gaps in the millions, and each is doing critical work to advance our shared vision for democracy and power-building toward racial justice.
